When do classes start?

New classes start three times per year: April, September, and January

Do you have a waiting list?

No, there is not a waiting list for our next available class, which will begin April 6, 2026.

What are the application requirements?

You must be at least 18 years old to apply to the program and an Ohio resident. You also must have a high school diploma with a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) or a GED. CSPN’s complete application requirements are listed here.

What is the school’s policy regarding vaccinations?

Upon enrollment, a student is required to have their healthcare provider complete an immunization record. If the immunization record is unable to be located by their healthcare provider, a titer(s) is drawn. If the titer(s) shows a student is absent of a vaccination(s), they much follow the recommended vaccination schedule prescribed by their healthcare provider.

If a clinical facility requires students have the flu shot, CSPN will defer to the clinical facility policy.

Enrolled students must be in full compliance with respect to required vaccinations and medical examinations (physical upon enrollment) or risk dismissal from the program.

How are admissions decisions made?

In making admissions decisions, CSPN looks at each applicant file in its entirety, including but not limited to the applicant’s transcripts, background check/drug screening, and writing sample. CSPN reserves the right to accept only the most qualified applicants.

When is the entrance exam being given?

Exams will begin in February 2026 for the April 2026 program.

How much does the entrance exam cost?

There is no cost to take the CSPN entrance exam.

What is on the entrance exam and how can I prepare for it?

The test consists of two sections: reading comprehension and basic math. For more information about the test, including preparation resources and sample math problems, please see this page.

What are the hours of the program?

Enrolled students should expect to be in class from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or at their clinical site from approximately 6:45 AM to 4:00 PM.

CSPN’s program is four days per week, daytime only, and is not offered on weekends. Classroom instruction is held in person. The clinical experience may involve any of the following modalities per week: vSim, on-site clinical laboratory, and/or off-site community clinical.

Level 1 and Level 2 classes and clinical sessions are held Monday – Friday.
Level 3 and Level 4 classes and clinical sessions are held Monday – Friday.

Do you offer evening, weekend, or part-time classes?

Unfortunately, CSPN does not offer evening or weekend classes. The PN program is full-time and daytime. Classes and clinicals are held Monday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Friday.

How long is the program?

The PN program at CSPN is one calendar year, or 46 weeks to be exact. Students typically have four-day weeks.

How many students are in a class?

Each class has seating for up 52 students.

Are there any prerequisites?

We do not require any prerequisite coursework. Applicants must, however, meet the basic requirements as listed in our application equirements.

What do students wear to class and clinicals?

Students wear scrubs when attending in-person learning. Students wear nursing whites to clinical lab.

Do you offer an RN program?

We do not offer an RN program. CSPN is a PN program only.

Does your program offer IV therapy?

Yes, IV therapy is an integral part of the program throughout all four levels. Upon licensure in the State of Ohio, you will be allowed to perform IV therapy as part of your scope of practice.

What type of certification do students receive?

Upon completing the PN program, students attend a graduation ceremony and receive a Diploma.

Is the diploma the same as a license?

No. As soon as you complete the program, you are eligible to take the National Council of Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN).

Is your school accredited?

Yes. CSPN is Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)–accredited. CSPN is approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing receiving the maximum 5-year approval, as well as by the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools (#2159).

Do you have campus housing?

No. Students are from Northeast Ohio and live independently or with their family.

How much does the program cost?

The total cost of the PN program for the April 2026 class will be $19,500. This amount covers classes, clinicals, and labs.

Is financial aid available?

Yes! Financial assistance is available to those who qualify through Pell Grants, student loans, and scholarship money available through the school and elsewhere. More information on financial aid is available here.
