About the Test

For admission into the PN program, CSPN uses a proprietary exam which covers reading comprehension and basic math.

The reading comprehension portion is 90 minutes in length, and the math portion is 60 minutes in length.

Minimum passing scores are 68% on the math exam and 70% on the reading comprehension exam.

Applicants have one attempt to pass each section of the exam.

A minimum of 72 hours’ prior notice is required for applicants who require entrance testing accommodations. The applicant’s healthcare provider must submit via email to zbailey@cspnohio.edu  a letter outlining the results of the applicant’s diagnostic test(s) and outcome(s), along with testing accommodation recommendations.

The math portion consists of 40 basic math problems including:

  • Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions
  • Multiplication of whole numbers in word problems
  • Determining the value of fractions
  • Calculating the specified percentage of a whole number
  • Comparing the values of decimals and rounding
  • Converting from fraction to percent and from percent to decimal

CSPN will provide a calculator.
